Description:

https://github.com/JaredC01/Galileo2 :

Here you will find all of the files for the Galileo 2 projects, including a Voron Stealthburner drop-in Extruder (G2E), Z-Drives (G2Z) for V2-style printers (including V2, Micron, etc.), and a Standalone Extruder (G2SA) with mounting options for Orbiter-2.0-style or Sherpa-Mini-style mounts.

For those that are curious about what Galileo 2 offers over Galileo 1, here's a short list of benefits:

Galileo 2 is a full redesign, moving to a 9:1 gear ratio and optimizing the gearbox design over Galileo 1. No parts from Galileo 1 are reused with Galileo 2.

Custom 9T stepper with a taller spur gear resulting in 20% higher contact surface area than existing 10T stepper designs, resulting in better wear characteristics and power transfer.

Proper meshing of gears due to number of stepper teeth being divisible by number of planets (9T sun / 3 planets), which gives even loading on the planets / sun gear and improves wear characteristics and power transfer. Previous designs with 10T steppers had uneven loading on the planet gears.

G2 Extruder (G2E) is designed as a drop-in replacement for the CW2 extruder for Voron printers utilizing the Stealthburner toolhead. G2E features a custom large drive gear (16mm diameter) mated to an idler bearing to help prevent extruder artificing due to gear meshing, and because it features a planetary gearbox, there's no issue with gear-meshing noise as found on CW2. G2E is also fully compatible with all current toolhead boards available.

G2 Standalone (G2SA) is designed as an Orbiter 2.0 or Sherpa Mini drop-in replacement extruder and utilizes the G2E kit parts for assembly. This expands the printer lineup for G2 to any printer compatible with the Orbiter 2.0 or Sherpa Mini, and gives the benefits noted above for G2E to every compatible printer. The G2SA is also a lightweight extruder, comparable to the Orbiter 2.0.

G2 Z-Drive (G2Z) is designed as a compact Z-drive for the Voron V2 and Micron printers. It features the same 9:1 planetary gearbox and stepper in an easy-to-assemble package without the need for belts or pulleys (outside of the Z belt pulley). This design saves considerable space in the electronics compartment for small V2 printers, as well as the Micron 120 and 180 printers, allowing for more room where it's needed most. On larger V2 printers the benefit is smaller, but still includes the higher gear ratio (up to 9:1 from 5:1) for increased print resolution. There are also multiple applications for user mods outside of the V2/Micron printers, such as a belted V0 Z drive.
